Emily Deschanel admitted to David Duchovny on a "Fail Better" podcast episode that once the first season filming began, serious anxiety overcame her... to the point that she was late for a session, but after a "stern talking to" from creator/exec Hart Hanson, she learned the show was picked up for additional episodes... and Hanson got her a bigger trailer and more help with her lines...
