Before joining husband Bill on the two soaps still remaining on CBS, "Y&R" and "B&B," she started in Chicago (Mark, Joe), hosting a generations-before-Oprah daytime talk show on CBS2, and creating groundbreaking news specials tackling social issues like race relations, divorce, rape, and women in prison. 91.

I interviewed Lee Phillip Bell for a college project.  Classy lady and great broadcaster who got typed as a fluffmeister (cooking, fashion, celebs) on her midday 15-minute show between the noon news and "As the World Turns" on WBBM, but when her show and the newscast were combined as "Noonbreak," she got to show off her news instincts, although she was more the all-around broadcaster in the great tradition--and about the only woman in Chicago who had that reputation for a long time.
