Talk shows have been exempted for decades. But as with everything else, this administration ignores precedent.

Colbert, understandably, booted the cold open and devoted the second segment to address this. While he might not still be around when election season begins, this still impacts his colleagues.     B

I'm now suspecting, though, an announcement from Netflix that Colbert will move to them the Monday after the last CBS show, that they will continue to rent the Ed from CBS and that it will be exactly like the current "Late Show," with Louis Cato's band, same set, the cold opens, the 20 hack writers, the animators and Photoshoppers, the high-pressure warmup people cueing the boos and cheers, same talent bookers. The only changes will be Chris "Paste-Eater" Licht returning as showrunner and the title changed to "The Stephen Colbert Show." And Carr can't do a damn thing because it's streaming. And oh yes, unbleeped curses.  I may be wrong, but...
