More or less - I've read that this season is going to get everyone back into their familiar roles, save for Archer, who has to deal with having been in a coma due to the events at the end of season 7 (the 'private detectives in LA' season). Essentially, Archer becomes the fish-out-of-water, a position to which the character is not accustomed.
