ABC will broadcast the NFL draft

It has got to be a sign of something concerning broadcast TV in prime time, needing live sports to keep viewers, even if it is just the NFL draft. Still, if you have favorite ABC shows, prepare to have them pre-empted April 25-27*.
* The draft rounds on April 27 will be in the afternoon.

It's interesting to note that the ABC broadcasts will be "an added focus on the personalities and backstories of the draft picks and the overall spectacle of the draft, including live musical acts" per the article per the press release. So it's not like they're just simulcasting TWWL: this crap will be so full of human interest they'll be legally required to show Ryan Seacrest once per half hour.*

Maybe not Seacrest, but there will be an "Idol" connection: Luke Bryan, one of their judges, and Bobby Bones, the country-radio host and AI mentor, will appear the first night, with Bones also part of night 2.
