The CW, brought to you by Tim Hortons (OK, enough of the Canadian jokes). Of course, the truth is that the model the network originally ran on of lose money now, make it up for CBS and Warners on the backend overseas sales and Netflix licensing doesn't work anymore and Nexstar wants to see black ink by 2025.  To that end, the CDub is now in summer mode all year long with a lineup dominated by overseas pickups and unscripted.  Here it is:

MONDAY
8:00-9:00PM All American (the only--ONLY--U.S. scripted series with new episodes)
9:00-10:00PM 61st STREET--Dumped by the ailing AMC while the second season was being shot, it's a cop drama set in Chicago that doesn't look much like Dick Wolf's Wednesday night shows on NBC, with Courtney B. Vance and Aunjanaue Ellis. Both completed seasons will air back-to-back.

TUESDAY
8:00-8:30PM SON OF A CRITCH--Mark Critch of the long-running CBC sketchcom "This Hour Has 22 Minutes" (which Americans have never seen unless they live on the border) tells stories off-camera of him growing up in the Canadian province Newfoundland (CBC promos:  "Tonight at 8, 8:30 in Newfoundland") in the 80s.  Malcolm McDowell plays his grandfather.  Two 13-ep seasons on the CBC from last year, will air those seasons back-to-back.
8:30-9:00PM RUN THE BURBS--A Vietnamese family moves to the Great White North to start a new life. A cast member of "KIm's Convenience" (in case you watched it on Netflix) created and stars in the show. On the CBC since last year, 25 episodes over two seasons, will air the seasons back-to-back.
9:00-9:30PM CHILDREN RUIN EVERYTHING--From a producer of 'Schitt's Creek" whose last name is not Levy, a standard issue family sitcom (I guess it's a single-cam).  Two seasons and 24 episodes for CTV and Roku Channel in the U.S., a third season has been ordered, Roku will continue to stream the show.
9:30-10:00PM EVERYONE ELSE BURNS--A British family holds some, uh, extreme religious views about their fellow man and the world. Started on Channel 4 in the UK earlier this year for a typically-British six episodes (although produced by Universal and JAX Media).

WEDNESDAY
8:00-9:00PM SULLIVAN’S CROSSING--A neurosurgeon fleeing from the law moves back to her old home, from a series of novels by Robyn Carr and starring three veterans of old school CW shows, including Chad Michael Murray ("One Tree Hill") and lead Morgan Kohan ("Batwoman").  From the producers of the similar Netflix show "Virgin River" and Fremantle, was on CTV earlier this year, ten episodes.
9:00-10:00PM THE SPENCER SISTERS--Lea Thompson plays a mystery novelist who solves crimes with her daughter, who people mistake for her sister, in a return to the good old days of the blue-sky procedural that kept USA and TNT in business.  Started on CTV earlier this year, 10 episodes.

THURSDAY
8:00-9:00PM FBOY ISLAND (repeat of previous week)
9:00-10:00PM FBOY ISLAND--The you-gotta-be-kidding HBO Max dating show that got cut by Daddy Zaslav as part of the great cost cut at WBD moves to OTA TV and starts with the first season (a second season is in the can) so you know there's lots of bleeps.  Ilana Glazer continues as host, an "FGIRL Island" spinoff will air mid-season.

FRIDAY
8:00-9:00PM Penn & Teller:  Fool Us (Brooke Burke replaces Alyson Hannigan as the show's fifth wheel)
9:00-9:30PM Whose Line Is It Anyway? (the last season of the long-runner, they'll probably make so many episodes that new shows will air years from now)
9:30-10:00PM Whose Line reruns

SATURDAY
8:00-8:30PM Masters of Illusion
8:30-9:00PM Masters of Illusion (previous season repeat)
9:00-9:30PM World's Funniest Animals
9:30-10:00PM World's Funniest Animals (previous season repeat)

SUNDAY
8:00-10:00PM I AM FILMS--A series of feature documentary bios I have never heard of before, although I sort of remember the first one, 2012's "I Am Bruce Lee."  Three new episodes will be made.

And the reboot of "Walker," which I suspect was never a favorite of the CDub hardcore, will return for a 13-episode final season after the first of the year.

The wailing and moaning of the faithful can now begin (oh hell, it's already started).

Well I guess one way to deal with the WGA strike, it to buy scripted and shot content from other English countries.

It's also going to be interesting to see where some of these programmes (eh?) will air in 8 major markets where CBS-owned CW stations are dropping their affiliations (including Philadelphia - Philly57 to be a pseudo-indie).

The educated guess here in Pittsburgh is that the former MyTV station will become the new CW station.

Four of the eight markets have Nexstar stations that I’m sure would love to make room on their airwaves.

Philadelphia: WPHL (My)

San Francisco: KRON (My)

Sacramento: KTXL (Fox)

Tampa: WFLA (NBC)/WTTA (My)

In addition, Mission Broadcasting is planning to buy WADL/Detroit, calling in Nexstar for help with operational services – which could take care of WKBD’s disaffiliation.

Updates and premiere dates announced today:
All American has been pushed to midseason... as has 61st Street and the I Am Films.
The Tuesday lineup is now on Mondays.
The Fool Us preem will be followed by an encore of Inside the NFL.
And they've picked up US rights to The Swarm (link to May article), co-exec'ed by Frank Doelger (Game of Thrones), an eight-part drama originally aired by Germany's ZDF, and expect to début it in September.
No clues about Sundays...
