“GMA3” is running on substitute hosts for the time being while the news division decides what to do with the co-anchors finding love on the desk, much to the consternation of their spouses.

1. I literally have never heard of this program until the story started circulating.

2. I am surprised that GMA is produced from the News Division at ABC. Back in the day, while Today was an NBC News production, I thought GMA was noted by being produced by ABC entertainment. Or am I misremembering that?

3. The early versions of this story that I read indicated that each of these two had been separated from their spouses at the time they started hooking up, not that it is really any of our business.

4. The story mentions the icky case of The Morning Joe couple. Why would that have been accepted and this a cause for discipline of some kind? Is it because Joe is on cable?

The newscast portions of "GMA" had always been produced by ABC News, and the rest of the show was transferred from the Entertainment division to ABC News in 1995.

GMA3 has been kicking around for a while. I want to say it replaced "The Chew", but I'm not 100% certain. It started as something hosted by Michael Strahan, Sara Haines and Keke Palmer (?) as a GMA brand extension in the afternoon - the vibe I recall was somewhere between Hour 3 and Hour 4 of the Today Show. It went through a couple of mutations with hosts coming in and out until the pandemic hit. (GMA can't do an actual 3rd hour, with Kelly 'n' Ryan firmly ensconced there.)

Early in the pandemic, it was replaced by a daily newscast at the time called "What You Need to Know" which was hosted by Robach and focused on COVID news (vaguely like Nightline's origins, for those old enough to remember that), I'm not sure exactly when that show took on the GMA3 branding and morphed back into an Hour 3 of GMA, I think it was the fall of 2021.

As for Question #4, I think the answer to that one is black and white.

Amy Robach and TJ Holmes finally talk about their ouster, a year after the fact, on (of course!) their new podcast, which débuted today:
And oddly, the people they left for each other, Marilee Fiebig and Andrew Shue, have been seeing each other...
Like Dan Patrick sometimes says, I love love.
