Disney absorbs Marvel, getting rid of those who were running Marvel under Disney.

I’m not into comic book movies or comics in general, but I prefer DC to Marvel. That said, the rivalry between the two (sometimes friendly, sometimes outwardly hostile) led to better from both. While the Marvel name will exist, it saddens me that it won’t still be the distinct thorn in DCs side anymore.

Over a year ago the podcast ( radio show?) Did a good segment on Spiderman. It explains why there are recurring movies every few years... contracts is the reason.

There's a case to be made that Ike Perlmutter getting laid off isn't any great loss to Marvel or Disney. Apart from his attempt to oust the board last year, he and Kevin Feige have been at odds going all the way back to Phase 2 of the MCU (or possibly before), and there are some who claim he was actively trying to sabotage Feige by pushing Marvel TV in an inconsistent direction (which is one of the reasons why beyond Season 2 or so of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D", there wasn't a ton of cohesion with the MCU, despite being considered canon at the time).  And some report that's he's a misogynistic douche.

And it should be pointed out that Perlmutter was running the publishing and licensing side of Marvel, while Kevin Feige ain't going nowhere and is now in charge of the whole company.
