The former MSNBC host, who left the net to start the Mediaite web site, is leaving that site to return to regular TV at ABC, where he'll replace Terry Moran (who's heading to ABC's London bureau) as anchor of "Nightline"--yeah, it's still on at 12:35 after Kimmel, unless your ABC affiliate delays it or doesn't carry it at all to run repeats of "ET" or sitcom reruns instead:

I've long wondered when the long, slow fade of "Nightline" from 'most
important half hour of my day' to 'utter irrelevance' would be
completed. And now I know.

Back in the days of the OJ trial, Dan Abrams provided some of the most
dispassionate and fact-filled recaps for CourtTV. If you wanted to
know what was happening in the courtroom with a minimum of the sidebar
gossip, he was good for that. I honestly don't think I've watched a
single minute of his work post-verdict.
