One-time strangeness in affiliate land

Charlotte is undergoing an affiliate swap on July 1, as the current CW/My duopoly was purchased by Fox TV Stations. The current Fox affiliate is switching to CW on July 1st.

This gives us strange things like:

After American Idol, the 10:00 news had interviews from the CW up fronts.

The Fox station is running promos for next season's CW programming.

The CW station is running promos declaring itself the new home of Fox football.

From the comments on the local news websites, it looks like it's completely confusing to the average viewer.
