Jon Stewart ripped Congress over funding for 9/11 first responders and then ripped Mitch McConnell specifically.
I can't believe I am writing this, but I think McConnell is right on this. I don't think anyone doubts it will pass in time. Stewart seems offended he didn't get a bigger audience for his testimony and now wants it on a rocket sled through the Senate. Like anything less is disrespectful. This seems to be more about Stewart trying to stay relevant.
Of course, if McConnell holds it hostage, l will be eating my words.

McConnell has been using it as leverage for several years now. No reason to think he won't do it again.

I think you are reading him wrong. The core of the House testimony was from a 9-11 first responder who was taking a break from chemo for a cancer that s killing him. The room was dull f responders with various serious conditions. McConnell drags this out so he can use it as a bargaining chip to get something else he wants, forcing these guys to put their lives on hold repeatedly to advocate for the support the country promised them. Stewart is using his celebrity to try to protect these people from these political games. Plus McConnell is an asshole.

I never argue with PGage when PGage is right.
