CBC has their app called CBC Gem. It provides free streams of local OTA
channels, plus on-demand stuff with ads. You have to subscribe for the News
Network.

Well I just got a notification of a free period. I can't find any press
release online.

International readers may want to try to stream from gem.cbc.ca to see if
you can watch our election coverage and "WTF did Trump do on tariffs today"
updates.

YMMV.

I can attest that CBC, BBC, and even German-based (though in English) DW
offer unique perspectives on American news and “culture” (sarcastic bunny
rabbit ears). And if you can set aside Jim Cramer, CNBC has been doing an
amazing job analyzing the actual impact of tariffs.

Based on my experience just now, this is Very Probably Not available to the average person outside Canada.

Nope. US postal codes not accepted. B

For a Canadian Toronto postal code, you can try M5B 1G7 which was my
university residence.

Just to be clear, the AP has not gone into any kind of RESISTANCE mode with
this, they have a very clear and reasonable rationale. Not that the current
US President cares about reason.

Because the body of water in question is not fully contained within the US,
and the US President does not have the authority to change the names of
geographical entities outside the US, the AP will continue to use the name
recognized internationally for 400 years, while also noting that in the US
it is officially known by the new name.

If I didn’t have the ESPN app which features short videos of his
pontifications I wouldn’t know who he is and I’m guessing that’s true for
at least 80% of the population. Plus he’s not giving up his highly paid TV
gig to solicit contributions and hit the campaign trail.

I’m not really worried that he would win the Democratic nomination for
president in 2028 (though I felt that way about a certain TV clown in 2015
too). It’s nit that Trump was a more serious or plausible candidate than
Trump, but that the mean of the US electorate has always been Center-Right,
so a disrupter from the Right will always have a better t
Chance (not that I assume Smith himself is something I would recognize as a
liberal ).

But I am happy now to have a good example.

He switched to the rightist cause not that long ago... around Christmas...
