UK comedian and panel show mainstay Sean Lock passes

I'd recently dived into UK panel show clips on YouTube, and gravitated toward those programs that didn't require a high level of UK-specific knowledge to follow the action.

One of those programs was 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, a loosely organized series of bits interrupted by letter and number puzzles.  Sean Lock was one of the regular panelists and a ridiculously funny fellow of the absurdist curmudgeon variety.  He passed today of cancer, aged 58.

Channel 4, which airs 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (and the two programs that spawned it), put together a short clip, but I'd encourage people to seek the longer clips or complete episodes he appears in.

I've been down this UK chat show rabbit hole as well. Funny stuff.

Different comedian, but the guy that does a poem about his penis is funny as well.

I can only think of the fellow who did a poem about naming other peoples' penises (Joe Wilkinson), which was also very funny.  For all I know, we're talking about the same person.

Since genital humour is a staple of, if not the show, many of the comedians who appear on it, there may well be an episode with such a poem.

I love 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, almost more than regular Countdown.

For anyone interested in Sean Lock's work, I can safely say that if you Google "Carrot in a box" you won't be disappointed.
