Realizing any sports fans in the group are most likely focused on World Cup, I’m primed for another installment of Le Tour de France. It’s basically the only reason I subscribe to Peacock. Checking out the cycling section, they now offer a cycling commentary series called “The Move” co-hosted by Lance Armstrong.
I loved Lance when he was cycling, and I sported one of his yellow Livestrong wristbands for years, but I confess I am stunned that the guy behind the most notorious doping scandal in the sport hosting a show seemingly sanctioned by the very cycling establishment that he screwed over is seemingly de facto how things are now.
I say this as someone who personally didn’t care about his steroid use when it came out, and frankly wasn’t even surprised by it. I just assume everyone trying to climb the Alps on a ten-speed in the middle of summer is on drugs. But those who take sports way too seriously made Armstrong out to be a yellow-clad devil. But now he gets to provide color commentary?
Do the other steroid users get their own shows?
