Wife Marilyn passed in 2022, and yesterday (7/17) husband Alan, 99, did likewise in L.A.... he started as a director while also songwriting in Philly at the early WCAU-10, before its CBS acquisition; none short of Johnny Mercer convinced him to move to the left coast to lyricize full-time, which led to meeting his eventual bride... the couple's TV themes included "The Sandy Duncan Show," "Good Times" and "Maude" with Dave Grusin, and "Alice" with David Shire...
