Yahoo: Tuesday night during Bally Detroit's telecast of a Detroit Tigers home game against Shohei Ohtani and the LA Angels, play-by-play man Matt Shepard asked analyst Jack Morris in the sixth inning when Ohtani came up, how the team would pitch to him; Morris used a phony Asian accent to say, "Very, very careful"... Morris would apologize on-air before the game ended, but that didn't stop the social-media walloping...

Ohtani is a miracle, and the best thing to happen to American baseball since Babe Ruth. Sacrificing Jack Morris is a small and insignificant price to pay. And it’s not Ohtani’s feelings that are the point here, it is the feelings of all the ten year old Asian kids watching him play baseball.

It's important to note that Morris has a history here, going back to his playing days. There was a legendary incident in 1990 when he told a female *intern* at the Freep “I don’t talk to people when I’m naked, especially women, unless they’re on top of me or I’m on top of them.”. So suffice to say any empathy for Morris should be used for something more valuable, <sarcasm>like the fact that I root for a team who doesn't seem actually interested in winning now that they got their flag.</sarcasm> 

Morris can go run a 5K off a three-board pier.
