Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting, teens during filming, now both in their 70s, claim Franco Zeffirelli ordered them to do a scene nude late in production, then said that cameras would be aimed so as not to accent the nudity... no comment from the studio; the director passed in 2019...

I will gladly testify that this version of the play was perhaps the most boring ever set to film, and not even gratuitous nudity could save it.

L.A. Superior Court judge tosses the case, citing First Amendment concerns and that it crashed into a statute of limitations. The lawyer for the actors is planning both a state appeal and a Federal action, noting that a Criterion Collection reissue of the flick in 4K would put the case back within the statute...

At this point it sounds like elder abuse. Maybe the manager or his attorney thought they could get a settlement from Paramount to make it go away. Getting an appeal heard is going to take years and the best outcome would be to make the lower court try the case, which could take more years and money.
