Vince was never great at reading the room; I have a feeling that those closest to him (at least, the ones still talking to him) told him it was time to tap out for good.  If you saw any of Wrestlemania this past weekend (streaming on Peacock!), there was a lot of talk about a new era under Paul "HHH" Levesque, the WWE signature at the top of the broadcast was updated and removes any direct references to Vince Sr. or Jr., and for the first time...ever?...the only McMahon featured in any capacity on the broadcast was Vince's daughter (& more importantly, HHH's wife) Stephanie.
