Vince McMahon, who took his family's small regional wrestling promotion into the WWE worldwide "sports entertainment" juggernaut, is not happy about the docuseries about him that Netflix will drop tomorrow, claiming that it gives the impression that the "Mr. McMahon" evil character he plays in the WWE universe is much like his real life persona:

The fact that Netflix went ahead and commissioned the series, which brings up the shadier areas of the WWE, is rather surprising considering that "RAW" will be moving from USA Network to the service starting in January. One would think that they would not put on anything negative about one of their program suppliers.

Vince is a narcissist and he’s going to gripe about any documentary that’s not a hero story about him. There must be a documentary story about how the WWE survived his chronic toxicity without suffering any horrible damage in a business sense.

Wouldn't the documentary have been commissioned well in advance of WWE's rights deal with Netflix?  After all, if they started shooting while McMahon was still running the company, that goes back at least to early 2022 (if not even earlier).
