Fast Times at Ridgemont High was about teenagers who, with parents never available, had to deal with adult situations by themselves. The whole cast for this table read is middle aged. How old is the youngest cast member - 40?

This sort of threw me as well. But I'd guess that the average teen today wouldn't watch a table read of such an "old" film. So this one is really trying to appeal to people in their 40s and 50s...

I've watched at least some of a few of these table-reads - the Community one was great - but they just about all use the original cast (or as near as). I guess they're now turning into kind of virtual plays with star studded casts who've got little else to do right now (and of course they're for charity).

Here's a two minute excerpt. I'd say it's worth watching.

I watched one of the clips bouncing around on the Tweety-thingy... as a fan of the original movie (I was in that mall food court the day they closed their doors), after watching the clip I was not motivated to seek out the whole table read

This looks more to me like a group of A-Listers goofing around and having fun than an earnest attempt to tell the film's story. That makes it work for me.

Okay, I watched it this afternoon. The YouTube video runs just under an hour and host Dane Cook explained that they did the whole script for the live stream and they had technical problems so they edited the reading down for YouTube. To get full enjoyment of the table read you have to have been the right age for the movie when it came out and a big fan of the talent doing it. I liked the movie though I saw it a few years ago and I like the talent but not enough to be a big fan. As a result I found the table read mildly entertaining and no more.
