But only on the official side, pending WWE-board investigation of "alleged executive misconduct," after the WSJ revealed he'd paid $3mil to a former female employee with whom he'd reportedly had an affair... he'll continue to be on the public, "storyline" side...

I have seen other stories on this today headlined with “Stepping Down” or “Stepping Back”. It’s worth noting that, whatever kind of step this is, it is a pretty small one. His daughter is taking over.

The dirt sheets are reporting that VKM will be on WWE SmackDown! tonight to address his 'stepping away' from his role of Chairman/CEO, but indications are it will be an in-character promo, so it's doubtful we'll get any new/honest information.

Oh, it still matters.  The misconduct VKM is accused of happened on company time, in his position as CEO (and possibly Chairman - not sure how many of the accusations occurred after WWE went public), so even though he's no longer working for WWE, he's exposed the company to severe legal liability.

Big-time liability. Apparently, they filed something with the SEC saying that they’re going to have to amend their financial reports to reflect Vince’s payouts as corporate expenses, meaning that they knowingly misstated financials as a public company.

He’s also still the majority stockholder so he has a lot of power if not the title.

His troubles are fuelling sale talk and speculation about upcoming media deals (broadcast runs out in '24, Peacock streaming in '26), driving Dub-Dub-E stock to its highest level in a year...

And NOW there's a rumor (I forget where I spotted it - maybe Deadline) that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson may make a play to buy the company.

As VKM himself would say, this is some good s**t.  (Better than anything they've put in the RING lately.)

I think your switch to AEW will be a bigger driver for change at WWE than attempts to make it look like they’re holding Vince accountable will be.
