Former MMA fighter and forever rightwing wack job Gina Carano was fired from her role as Cara on the Disney+ series after a series of wack job posts in social media and Elon Musk is financially supporting her suit, since some of her statements were made on what is now X--she claims in the suit that Disney and Lucasfilm's actions were "bullying, discriminatory, and retaliatory":

No response from Disney or Lucasfilm yet, but Disney's law department has a pretty good track record.

I wouldn’t bet against Disney’s legal department. And if they think Carano’s case has any merit they’ll settle and make it go away.

Never bet against the mouse.

Especially when the opposition is a flaming pile of turds.

Just a coincidence but Carano's most vocal supporter from The Mandalorian cast during her dispute, Carl Weathers, just died.
It seems like the statute of limitations would have tolled but she got fired after the second season aired.
Her IMDb page lists zero credits for 2023.

But remember, Elon (yeah, him) is backing the suit... still, when CNBC asked Bob Iger what his thoughts were about it, and he just said "None," and moved on to another topic...

Here’s the thoughts Iger could have: Based on the expert scientists and doctors, Carano was advocating behavior which would have led to even more Covid related illnesses and deaths than we were already facing at the time. She posed a danger to herself and others, and it was decided Disney could not risk her endangering herself or others during the production of one of their top revenue generators. It was a sound medical and financial decision.

And what’s Elon’s track record in these matters? He’s got a dozen other things to keep him distracted. Disney Legal can stay focused.

I think Musk is trying to help Carano like Peter Thiel helped Hulk Hogan in his lawsuit against Gawker. Even if she doesn't prevail she can make it as painful as possible

Hogan was retired when he sued Gawker. Having Musk pay attorney fees to make a right wing point would mean a long long civil litigation process that would make Carano unemployable to mainstream studios. Who would hire an actor who sues the studio for a dispute?

As I pointed out earlier in the thread, IMDb lists zero acting credits for Carano in 2023. Her lawsuit seems to have Disney employ her again. There are rumors of a Mandalorian movie.

A US district judge rejected a motion to dismiss, so at the very least there could be a settlement...

She’s a public menace. I wouldn’t settle with her.
