He was an occasional commentator on a some of CNBC’s shows back when I was an intern. I had a few run-ins with him. I won’t miss him.

It’s a competitive field, but I think I would Nominate Liddy as the worst human being to work as a presidential political operative not associated with Donald Trump (close second, Oliver North).

He would swagger into the studio like he was the biggest celebrity in the country, shake the hands of only the white men in the room, and say something about how pleased he was to meet another real American (I’m paraphrasing... it’s been 27 years and I hadn’t given him much thought in all that time). There was an African American cameraman and female director there (both very approachable and personable) whom he ignored completely. I suspect he died believing he was an American hero.
