I think the author is mildly off on the key point: The people who
remember who these actors are are increasingly out of the target age
range.
That being said, there was an H&R Block ad that featured Kate Micucci,
whom I know of from the comedy music duo Garfunkel & Oates. I shouted
out, "It's Oates!" when I saw this.
And I wonder how many people see "Flo" from the Progressive ads and
think of the switchboard at Sterling Cooper?

I saw her signing at Comic-Con in San Diego a couple years ago; didn't
realize she was responsible for some of the other celebrities who were
there as well.
I didn't talk to her because I don't particularly care about autographs,
and I couldn't think of anything to say beyond "even at the age of 5, I
thought you were hot on 'Buck Rogers,'" which I figured would sound too
creepy.
