Who can forget when the amateur U.S. hockey team upset the Soviet juggernaut on Lake Placid?

They should have expected that.  Soft outdoor ice is typical in playground rinks in late Feb and early March in my area... Especially on sunny days.   

Sunny days on the rink those months will have people playing in tshirts and high spirits like summer has arrived.
