I saw it on Sunday, and would recommend it highly.  Well-paced, plenty of Looney Toons appearances, and an honest-to-goodness effort to tie the plot into broader themes.  Folks who want to complain about it will find things, but it really is a well-done animation/live-action hybrid.

That’s “Looney Tunes,” i.e., a companion to “Merrie Melodies,” i.e., names originally inspired by Disney’s “Silly Symphonies.” (There was also a “Happy Harmonies” cartoon series at MGM.)

When used as a synonym for crazy it’s usually spelled Looney Toons.

Just saw this  today with my wife and her mom. All three of us liked it. If you are of the age when Warner Bros cartoons were on TV or in the cinemas, you'll find things to like about this movie.

I also saw it last week and think it's very good. The creators clearly love and respect the characters, and didn't fall into any dumb traps like making the characters 3D or having a typically non-speaking character talk. Forte and Cena are both well cast.

See it in a theater. You'll not only get a great experience, with your admission you'll be able to symbolically give David Zaslav a rude gesture of your choice. (Apparently he never bothered to watch it before deciding to kill its release.)

What I liked was:

WB didn’t treat it as a kids’ movie, although a child watching it would have a good time. That meant there wasn’t a wave of kids’ marketing tie-ins with fast food and toy companies.

The cartoon characters were simply characters and the humans took their attributes for granted. Nobody bothered with any exposition to explain the interaction.

There were so many Easter eggs. Unlike earlier WB movies like this, the Easter eggs weren’t about recurring traits but callbacks to gags from a single cartoon.
