Nellie Andreeva had reported in June 2020 about the then-ABC boss discussing the sequel, built around Stonestreet's Cameron and Jesse Tyler Ferguson's Mitch, followed by Ferguson telling ET two years later that a script was ready... chatting with mostly-sports-figure interviewer Graham Bensinger ('toob available), Stonestreet said the network "[didn't] want to do it"...
