Everything in this article is accurate, and I've spent many a horrible job less afternoon burning through these shorts.

Conversely, MeTV Toons (link to our coverage) is still not widely carried on cablers over a year on*, which I suspect is due to their fear that it will lead to significant increases in already-outrageous retransmission-consent ("Broadcast") fees... and streaming is still only limited to DirecTV, Frndly and Philo, none of which are free...
B
*The company with the most affiliates carried is TDS, and a few other cities have it only as a TDS+ (streaming) option; apart from them, it's not a lot of cities

Looney Tunes are absolutely timeless. On rainy days, when I have to keep my students in the classroom for lunch, I can always put on something from the Warner animation library to pacify them. Tom and Jerry can sometimes work, too… maybe Droopy. Never anything Disney… not even Goofy. But always — always — Looney Tunes.

I converted a bunch of cartoons from my home VHS collection years ago (even have the original “last of the Dodos” cartoon, which in my opinion isn’t as racist as some claim, and I have the Bugs Bunny blackface cartoon, which is as racist as some claim). Also bought the collections on iTunes.

As I age, I realize how much culture I gleaned from cartoons, from classical music to literary references to pop culture of their day. And when I didn’t get a reference, I’d ask everyone I knew to explain it to me.

Agreed on Looney tunes.

When I was in high school (early 80s) , I went on a Roger Ramjet period.   I recorded them all and watched them repeatedly.    Think I should try some again to see if they stand up.

If nothing else, I think you'll see why they don't get run anymore (Roger Ramjet gets superpowers from taking pills).

Meanwhile, "Underdog" is on MeTVToons, where his secret weapon is--well, let him state it:  "The secret compartment of my ring I fill / With an Underdog Super Energy Pill."

Meanwhile, while "Underdog" went from General Mills to Golden Books to Lorne Michaels (yep) to NBCU's DreamWorks Animation, "Roger Ramjet" went from small production companies to---ooh, its DVD release was on Classic Media, which means that DreamWorks may own it, since it bought out Classic Media to get the TTV characters (and the Jay Ward characters, although the Ward estate also partially owns them).

The "Classic Media" page at Wikipedia mentions Roger as one of its properties, but with a "citation needed" notation...    B
