To call him a teen heartthrob might be questionable... his TV credits might go back to his time in the Tokens... somewhere, he might be meeting up with Connie Francis, whose "Stupid Cupid" he co-wrote, one of many with Howard Greenfield (d. 1986)... 86.

When I saw the headline, I thought Paul Anka.    But he is still going.

RIP Neil.

Paul Anka was on Bill Maher last Friday.
He was trying to sound like he has wild sex regularly, and made many crude jokes along that line.
It was sad.

I have fond memories of Neil Sedaka.
He wasn't a heartthrob, but he did make a lot of good music.
May he rest in peace.

I thought Anka was an entertaining guest on Real Time.  He still puts on a great concert.  Unlike others in his age group, his voice is holding up.

I'm not quite in his age group, but getting there..  Over a span of more than 40 years, I saw Neil Sedaka three times -- first, as the opening act for The Carpenters, and then decades later there was a fine tribute to him at Lincoln Center.  Most memorable to me from that event was getting to meet Paul Shaffer and Daryl Dragon and hearing Connie Francis sing "Where the Boys Are."
