At a rare press conference appearance for him (he usually tells the press to listen to his show) to promote "America's Got Talent," he said that when his stint at WNNNNNBC ended back in the 80s, then-NBC chairman Grant Tinker said that Stern would come back to the Peacock "over my dead body" (well, Grant was right), took shots at the Parents Television Council for starting a protest of his new gig, complimented President Obama for his pro-gay marriage stance and took shots at "Idol" in general and JLo and Seacrest in particular, conveniently forgetting that "Idol"'s co-owner is also "AGT"'s co-owner:

And if you read the link, you know that Grant Tinker is very much alive, despite Stern's statements and my misread.

Ryan Seacrest (however you spell) basically took Stern's place as a main draw at E! and Stern has never forgiven him for it.
