Mike Richards, the unscripted veteran who was hired by Sony to showrun "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy!", made himself Alex Trebek's replacement on the latter and lost his jobs when it was revealed he made sexist remarks on a podcast, is the new president of Ben Shapiro's Daily Wire, which has been attempting to branch out into entertainment--a PR person was quoted as saying, “We knew the answer was, ‘Who is Mike Richards?’ And now we can say ‘he’s an integral part of The Daily Wire’ was the question. He’s won 5 Emmy’s [sic], produced over 4,000 hours of network programming [which must refer to his stint at Fremantle showrunning "The Price is Right" and "Let's Make a Deal"], and run some of the most iconic shows the world has ever known. Thank you to the purple hairs. Please ‘cancel’ more creative geniuses.”--WTF are purple hairs? And it's "clue/response" on "Jeopardy"!, thank you very much:


The Wire has been trying to expand beyond rightwing commentary, notably attempts at children's shows like the "Bluey" ripoff "Chip Chinchilla," a television series based on the fantasy book series "The Pendragon Cycle," which seems to be stuck in post-production, and an attempt to troll Disney with a rival "Snow White" movie, which was called off when the actress who was to star in the film, Daily Wire host Brett Cooper, quit the company for her own podcast/YouTube show (Cooper is a lead in "Pendragon"). It's safe to say that Richards will lead the company towards more unscripted formats than expensive scripted shows.

When I look at the ways Michael Davies is stretching Jeopardy out beyond recognition, I sometimes wonder what would have happened if Mike Richard’s didn’t anoint himself Jeopardy host and just quietly stayed on as EP.

Even back in his Price is Right/Randumb Show days Richards was not an Obama fan. He and his assistant/co-host argued about it often on their podcast.
