What was a 75-day exclusive window for theaters before movies become available elsewhere has now become 17 for AMC and Universal, which is likely going to ripple out to everyone else, which likely changes everything.

As a parent of toddlers, I'm OK with this - my wife and I are avid moviegoers (our first official date was the AMC Best Picture Showcase), but with two 3 year olds, getting out to the movies was pretty darn impossible even before a global pandemic. Plus, this makes movies much more economical - even at $20 for a 24 hour rental, that's at least $5 savings just on admission, not even considering all of the other movie theater add-ons.
