Christie surprise

At a presser the other day, the NJ gov refused to be drawn into recent reports of the demise of Hostess, maker of among other things Twinkies, saying "I'm on ‘Saturday Night Live’ enough," but it apparently gave him an idea, which the NBC program was nice enough to help him carry out.

I actually thought he handled himself rather well - he seems to have a decent understanding of comic timing, and played with his image (and the image of the NJ stereotype) rather coyly.  The nod to his Bruuuuuuce fandom was a nice touch as well.  I'm not saying I would want to see him host, but I appreciate that he's willing to step out of character a little bit.

I've said this before, but it bears repeating: I'm not a fan of Christie's policies, but I've been very impressed with how he's handled himself and the state since Hurricane Sandy.
