Hi All,
You may remember that last year, we put on an orienteering activity for
Waddesdon's Learning Team who organised a weekend camp for Scouts,
Guides and Brownies. We had very positive feedback!
This year the camp is happening again! It is so popular that there are
150 children plus leaders. Our O was at the top of the list for a
request to repeat an activity. Many of the same children will be coming
again, hence we are offering a 45min score course for groups of 3
possibly with a leader, as something different and more time controlled.
There are 5 1-hourly rotating activities (10am, 11am, 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm)
and the 45min score will fit into this schedule well - there will be
point penalties for being late back. Within each hour 10 groups of 3
will be sent out after a bit of instruction about what to do for a score.
We are using our SI equipment.
We have only a few helpers so far, so will be very stretched to give the
children the best orienteering experience.
Please - if anyone can spare a few hours on Saturday 5th July, you would
be very welcome. You don't need to come for all day, perhaps just
morning or afternoon.
There are some Waddesdon volunteers who have signed up to help, but
mostly on roaming duties to offer assistance if the children need it.
I am aware that the following day (Sunday 6th July), the Yvette Baker
Trophy Final is being held 'up north', so several TVOC families with our
great juniors in our TVOC team will possibly be travelling there on
Saturday.
However, please can our other members consider a trip to lovely
Waddesdon to help us.
Here's hoping to get lots of positive replies!
Thanks,
Yvonne
