Brian Watkins

Hi,

 

This is a message for the older members of the Club, sorry to bother the rest.

 

At the end of February Finn Arildsen emailed Roger Thetfod as he was worried as he hadn't had the usual Christmas card

from Brian and Olwen. Roger circulated the email to several members and they also forwarded it to other members.

The email got to me and I then tried to contact John Spence who I knew was a long time friend of Brian, without success until today,

 I was pleased to hear that John and Mary had been in Ireland for four weeks, nice to know that 

John is up for a trip at his age, 93 the same as Roger Baker and Brian Watkins.

I spoke to Brian and he has been very sick and is now recovering from a major operation.

He said he completely missed Christmas with his health problem. He will phone Finn today

 

Finn Arildsen is Danish and used to serve with Brian on the IOF Technical committee for many years.

Brian and Olwen are living in a sheltered village at Kintbury ,on the canal between Newbury and Hungerford.

 

I hope this is of some interest to those who know Brian.

A couple of years ago, by pure chance, I encountered Brian in Hungerford town centre. Wasn't too surprised as I knew he was living nearby.

Had a chat, and he seemed OK at the time.
