I went to the “With” today from 9:30-12:30 with Gary and John Put in at the public launch on Rt44 about 7 miles west of Rt75. Been there many times but this is about the lowest water levels and most weeds I’ve ever seen. It would be impossible for motored boats right now. Some places the water was only 4 inches deep. The deepest holes we could find was about 24-30”. I got 3 bass all about 1 pound. Lost one on a poorly tied knot! Caught everything in plastic lizard. Tried spinnerbaits but just too weedy! I left at 12:30 and Gary & John we’re staying a bit longer. Winds were about 6-7 mph out of south. The “With” also flows south to north. So between the current and the wind going in the same direction, it was hard to stay in one spot very long. Some of the “With” was so weed choked and shallow, it wasn’t even navigable in parts in a yak. We need multiple days of rain to bring this river up a bit.

Thanks for the info. Were there any airboats running the With?

Hi Charles.  As you probably guessed, the Air Boat Ride business right there on Rt44 on the “With” is closed.  So they were not running.  But we did see one group of of about 5 smaller private airboats that all put in at the same time and all stayed together as a pack and headed north under the bridge towards Dunnellon.    They were the only ones I saw all morning.

Sounds like an "adventure", Denis.  Good effort.
