I had this issue and on settings I entered the email exchange account and wnet on the email part (there is email/contacts/notes, choose email) on then on the email part i momentainly desactivated the email on the account on the green/blanc interruptor. once I allowed email again (green) it started back working
After the iOS 17.2.1 update, I received pop ups telling me to enter my outlook.com email account password again and again. I have deleted and reconnected my outlook.com email account three times today. Some times it comes back online; other times, it does not. All this happened after my iPhone updated last night to 17.2.1
This is very troubling as all of my contacts are connected to that email account, and I can no longer use my phone to make calls to my contacts without using my computer to look up the telephone number.
Okay, I seem to have gotten my work exchange email back to the original operation. I had to delete it completely and reinstall it, which is a pain because it took so long to go through my entire work email (including sent, and deleted emails -- didn't realize how many of those I had).
I am unable to reply to emails. When I tap on reply, it boots me off of me emails and goes back to my phones main background and apps. This only started happening after the update. This is definitely an update issue which prevents me from using my phone for its intended purpose. To respond to emails without hauling my computer.
Hi all. I was having this exact problem since the update and I tried the suggestion from Nishinai. Thank you so much it worked. This seems to be an added level of security put in at the update and turning this on made all my folders come back immediately without all the mess of
I still have no resolution. I cant access my emails after the update and a scheduled password reset. I saw Nishinai suggestion and my devices is already at "Allow." IOS sends a message back to me saying "Unable to verify account name or password." I can get into my Outlook acounts on line. Any other suggestions. Like jarkko274 it is MS Exchange.
iOS updates generally aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. Email issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.
For issues that are not covered on this page, we have multiple tools to help you automatically diagnose and fix a range of Outlook problems. Check out this article: Resolve Outlook for Windows issues with automated troubleshooting tools.
This issue can occur when you register a 3rd party email address (e.g., an email address that is not Outlook.com or Hotmail.com) for your Microsoft Account and don't use Outlook.com for sending and receiving email.
If you typically use an Outlook.com account for email, this issue can occur if there are multiple aliases on the account and the 3rd party email address is the primary alias. Please see the ALTERNATIVE WORKAROUND section below.
If setup fails, select Change Account Settings. Update the account information with the one you received from your email provider or from the POP and IMAP server name reference topic. Choose Connect then then select Done.
Note: If you do not have another alias, select the link on the page to create one. Choose Add email and a new alias and then choose the option Create a new email address and add it as an alias.
If Outlook is connected to a primary Outlook.com account that is also connected to other secondary non-Microsoft accounts (such as Gmail, Yahoo, etc.), when sending an email in Outlook, you are not able to choose the other secondary connected account as the "From" sending account.
Outlook supports sending from a secondary connected account for Microsoft owned domains such as @outlook.com, @live.com, @hotmail.com but has not implemented this functionality for third-party domains.
The Outlook team is listening to your feedback and investigating adding this functionality to future updates. To learn more about how to provide feedback, see How do I give feedback on Microsoft Office. In the meantime, please use the following workaround:
Currently, you can't use Outlook on Windows to edit calendars that are shared with your Outlook.com account, even if you've reconnected your Outlook.com account to Outlook. We're working to make it possible to edit shared calendars in Outlook 2016 for Windows.
The issues documented in this section have been reported after installing the recent updates listed below. We're investigating the issues and will update this page when a fix is available. In the meantime, please use the workarounds suggested for each issue.
Until you can install the Windows Update fix release, you can set a registry key that will cause Outlook to stop using the local Windows Search service. When this registry key is set, Outlook will use its own built-in search engine. The built-in search will display the message below to indicate it is not using the Windows Search service.
This only applies to the MSI installations of Outlook 2016/Office 2016. Click-2-Run installations are not affected. The Office App add-in may show an Operation Failed error or seem to not respond to button presses or other UI choices.
When you try to configure a secondary account from the same Microsoft 365 tenant in Outlook 2016 (Current Channel) with ADAL enabled, you receive the following error: "An encrypted connection to your mail server is not available. Click Next to attempt using an unencrypted connection."
The fix is currently only available in Insider build 16.0.9124.2004 and higher. It will eventually be made available to Monthly Channel versions later in March. For Semi-Annual Channel and Semi-Annual Channel (Targeted) versions, please disable ADAL on the client as a workaround. To do this, see Enable Modern Authentication for Office 2013 on Windows devices.
Click the name of the new group (Arrange By) under Customize the Ribbon, and click the UP arrow to move it under the Respond group. You can change this later if you want to move it somewhere else.
There is currently no option to revert to the prior behavior, but we would love to hear your feedback to help us with future designs. To learn more about how to send us feedback, please see How do I give feedback on Microsoft Office.
The Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant will run a series of diagnostic tests on your computer and help you set up a new profile, or resolve other issues. If any of the tests fails, it will provide suggested solutions to get your problem solved.
CalCheck checks your Outlook calendar or general settings for problems, such as permissions, free/busy publishing, delegate configuration, and automatic booking. It also checks each item in your calendar folder for known problems that can cause unexpected behavior, such as meetings that seem to be missing.
On windows 10, inside the the old Mail app I accidentally clicked the try new outlook toggle and ended up in the new outlook app. I tried it, it required adding of all my emails accounts again. Some I have already lost access due to lost of password but the old email was still accessible in the old Mail app. I tried to toggle it off to return to the old Mail App but after I clicked it, opening the old mail app still opens the new outlook. Now I essentially lost a bunch of my old emails.
I did the exact same thing and lost the same things. I searched the internet on how to revert back. That's why I am here. Some said to go to the view setting, and others to the help setting. None of them works for my version.
I was just testing out this new feature preview. But it was absolutely horrible. The default Mail for Windows used to hardly take a second to open. But this monstrousity takes a lot time to open. The supposed-to-be-user-friendly-ui is **bleep** so annoying and complex. And to add more touches of crap, there is no option to rollback to the old application.
When I did this, now when I open the mail it doesn't open the Microsoft Store, instead just nothing happens. So then I didn't have a single functional mail app. I could not find the office pre app in the Microsoft Store either, and installing all the Microsoft 365 apps did nothing.
Install and open the old outlook, and use the switch for the new outlook from there. It will install the new outlook app again. Then you will be able to toggle the switch off again (and give your feedback). Now when you open the old Windows Mail it will work like it used to.
I have also discovered that I cannot send eMails from my iPhone or iPad either. I have tried 4 different eMail accounts from Xfinity with all the same issues. Don't let Xfinity try to tell you that it has anything to do with your individual account.
I did that immediately. It made no difference. I continue to experience intermittent issues connecting to Comcast's email servers. Comcast is just deflecting the blame instead of fixing the problem. I have started shopping for another ISP.
Over the past 4 days, I spoke to 9 Xfinity technicians on the phone, chat & community boards. Every single one gave me the same answer. It's a Microsoft issue. Even after I told them that the problem was happening with other apps besides Outlook.
I am amazed that you came across a technician who gave you the right answer. Don't these technicians have a common source to get the latest updates from. They all seem to follow the same script instead of looking outside the box.
