Pre-Endorsement and Bylaw information
Two important actions will be taking place at the next meeting, amending the bylaws and nominations for the pre-endorsement caucus. Please read through the information as it is important members are prepared before the next meeting.
Pre-Endorsement Caucus:
We have not received the final numbers on delegates we will receive for the pre-endorsement caucuses but I estimate we will have between 3-6 representatives for AD16 and 0-1 for AD20. To be eligible you must have been a member of the club in 2021, live in the appropriate Assembly district and be a registered democrat eligible to vote in the 2022 primary.
At Monday's meeting we will take nominations from the floor (make sure you know your new AD) and we will vote on our representatives. If you are interested make sure to attend and volunteer when asked.
Bylaws Updates:
We are proposing some sweeping Bylaws updates so please review the documents below to prepare for the meeting. The purpose is to clarify some ambiguities and codify some of the elected officials powers.

Jennifer Esteen is a registered nurse, mother, and community leader serving on the Eden Municipal Advisory Council and the Alameda Health System Board of Trustees. She has spent her career delivering for the most vulnerable, first as a psychiatric nurse in the San Francisco General Hospital Psychiatric Emergency Room, where she saw firsthand the vicious cycle that patients experience from diminished funding for mental health care and now as Vice President of Organizing for SEIU 1021. Jennifer is ready to fight for her community as an assemblymember in Sacramento. She will be a champion for working families – advocating for policies that will keep our communities safe and healthy. Jennifer will fight to ensure corporations and special interests pay their fair share, so our community has access to housing they can afford, healthcare they deserve, and a quality education.

I am currently serving my 5th year on the Santa Clara County Commission on the Status of Women, and 2017 elected as Chair, working to empower women and provide equal spaces for Queer Women of Color, around wage inequity and injustices we continue to face in Santa Clara County. Having the opportunity to help organize and lead the first Women's March San José, in 2017, honored with being the Keynote Speaker, gave me a space to uplift, encourage, and sustain more than 35,000 people in our beloved city, in a time of political contention.
