Tonight Igor Tregrub zoomed into the Club Council meeting to tell the Democratic Club representatives how to help in the Ukraine.  Igor is currently the chair of the Alameda County Democratic Party, the Sierra Club and is an elected official in Berkeley.  He was born in Kyev and came here 23 years ago.  He has family & friends in  the Ukraine who along with ex-patriots are delivering essentials into besieged areas and taking refugees out.  Igor has raised over $40,000 for this effort, he asks for your help.  Donations through Igor get to the frontlines in a couple of days,

In addition to financial help there is a need for housing for refugees, keep an eye out for places refugees might stay.  President Biden said this weekend that we would allow 100,000 refugees into this country, Poland has taken over 3 million refugees, there will be millions more shortly.  Tell your congressional representative to do the math (100,000 X 30 = 3 million), we have to share the refugee burden.  Igor asks that we tell President Biden to invoke the Defense Production Act by directing industry to get us off of fossil fuel & onto renewables, denying dictators the leverage fossil fuel affords them.
