Dear TVB users,

I am having trouble replicating the simulation shown in this tutorial, as they don't go though the parameters used: https://www.thevirtualbrain.org/tvb/zwei/newswire-educase/single/42212-learn-the-virtual-epileptic-patient-part-1

Could someone share with me screenshots of the exact parameters? I am using different x0 parameters in the different brain regions (EZ/PZ/NIZ) and HeunSctochastic integration but it breaks if I don't decrease the standard deviation. However, when I do so the obtained simulation is not like the one shown in the video. Basically, I would like to replicate the results from the paper, in which a seizure starts from normal brain activity. Now, the seizure begins as soon as the simulation starts, and it does not decay with time.

Thank you very much,
Esteban

Dear Esteban,

The parameters used in this demo are based on the following publication:

The excitability parameters are provided in table 2.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your response. I understand then that the integration scheme does not influence the simulation results in this case, as in the paper they are using the Euler-Maruyama method and in the video the HeunStochastic. The additive noise should be added in only the x2 and y2 population, but the video does not go through that.

Thanks again,
Esteban
