Hello everyone,

I hope you are well when receiving this message. The bifurcation parameter (x_0 or sometimes called eta) in the 2D Epileptor model. If x_0 is less than -2.05, the region is considered healthy and exhibits damped oscillations. Conversely, if x_0 is greater than -2.05, the region is considered the epileptogenic zone (EZ) because the model shows persistent oscillations. Around the threshold of -2.05, the region is called the propagation zone (PZ). I would like to know: does the threshold of -2.05 change if I change the parameter tau or the length of time of the simulation? If the threshold changes with the parameter tau, how should it be calculated?

I would like to seek any advice, insights or guidance on this topic.

Thank you very much for your time and support.

hi,

The threshold may change as a function of model parameters, but not the simulation length time.  one does either a stability analysis of the equations or empirically a parameter sweep to determine the critical values.

cheers,

Marmaduke
