One of my co-workers, who is also an amature astronmaer, gave me this lens today.  Has anyone used these before?  I have the Tele Vue 9mm 62-deg eyepiece and love it but this is an ultra wide angle 82-deg FOV so that's kind of interesting.  Seems like they are kind of an older model but just curious if anyone has used this and what they think.  Lucky me!

Hey Bill,
Neat looking eyepiece!  At 8.8 mm, it will give you a high magnification in your 9.25 SCT, for lunar and planetary closeups, with the widest field of view possible!  Looks like it could be a heavy eyepiece, but on your scope that should not be an issue.  The weight could be a factor for balance on a Newtonian, if the mount is not robust enough, but in a scope with a shorter focal length, this eyepiece could bring a nice medium magnification, without needing to use a Barlow!  Good luck with this eyepiece, and maybe we can try it out at Europa one of these Fridays.....
Will
