Hey Clark!
Thanks for the update! V-ger ("seeks the creator"), is almost to 1 light day away! At a recent Europa star party, I was trying to give a guest an idea of the distance and time to the nearest stars, compared to the distance to our outer planets, and I mentioned
Voyager. Our fastest, most distant spacecraft has taken 50 years to go 1 light day, so, if you multiply 50 years X 365 days, you get 18,250 years to go just 1 light year's distance! Multiply that by 4.3, and you could possibly be approaching the Alpha Centauri
neighborhood in about 78,475 years. I think it helped them understand why even the brightest stars in the night sky are just "points" of light, but the distances are still hard to comprehend!
