to TUZI ERP
TUZI ERP is built on modern 3-tiers architecture. Namely, there is a
SQL database, a web server, and a application logic, the three
together make up a complete and functioning application.
SQL database provides data storage, a web server receives user request
and delivers html pages to the users, and the application logic sits
between the database and web server, to intepret and execute user
request, and/or retrieve info from database and then present them to
the users via the web server.
I think this 3-tiers structure is commonly used on very website large
or small nowadays, except those websites that are purely static. This
is not something new in the website building domain.
However 3-tiers structure as a concept has been slow advancing in the
ERP domain. Traditionally ERP systems were developed and used as
desktop application, or at most client/server structure on a secured
enterprise internal network.
SAP has just started to offer on-line system to small businesses just
recently.
Reckon, the company makes Quickbook software also started to offer on-
line system alongside with their existing desktop products.
MYOB, another major business software provider in Australia, from my
reading on the internet, is also in the middle of developing their own
on-line offering.
These developments are all in line with the overall movement of cloud
computing and SaaS (Software as a service). Or we can say the ERP
system's movement towards clouding computing is a sub-section of the
overall movement.
Despite those initial advancements, the majority of users/clients of
ERP system or smaller accounting/bookkeeping/payroll software, are
still stuck with the old technology.
That makes it a very exiting time at the moment. A proven technology
that has been widely tested and used in website building is readily
and freely available for ERP system architects to build a brand-new
system or migrate older system to. And because of the low threshold,
there would be more programmers and software companies that can
participate in this market and have their own offerings.
That is all about the background in which TUZI ERP started its
development. At TUZI ERP, we strive to take advantages of new
technology and combine it with our deep business and professional
experience to offer a real alternative to traditional products. TZUI
ERP is aspired to bring ERP to small businesses. TUZI ERP designs its
functionalities and user interfaces with small businesses in mind. We
try very hard to strike a fine balance between functionality
complexity with user-friendliness.
At TUZI ERP, we have a team of ERP programmers and CPA accountants. We
understand business need to do more with less, and TUZI ERP does
exactly that for your business by integrating all important
functionalities into one package. We design our system from the
accountants' viewpoint, so that anyone with minimum business/
accounting experience will find TUZI ERP intuitive and have their
hands on the system in no time.
We can see many (if not too many) ERP system offerings coming up in
the near future. Built on the same or similar 3-tiers system
structure. How should TUZI ERP stand out from the crowd, we believe
the key lies in the business and accounting experience we build into
TUZI ERP. TUZI ERP is truely a system built by accountants and for
accountants.
An addtional advantage we have is we are small, we are small enough to
be highly flexible. TUZI ERP base ssytem can be customised, or
extended to suit specific business needs. And we can deliver that at
highly competitive cost.
We will continue to introduce TUZI ERP to you from other perspectives
in future posts.
