Doa Jawsyan Kabir: The Great Armor
Doa Jawsyan Kabir is a supplication that contains 1001 names of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. It is said to be a revelation from Allah to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during a battle, when he was wearing a heavy armor. Allah commanded him to recite this supplication, saying: "This is a protection for you and your nation".
This supplication has many virtues and benefits, as narrated by various sources. Some of them are:
- Whoever recites this supplication, especially at the beginning of the month of Ramadan, will be blessed and will receive the night of power (Laylatul Qadr).
- Allah will create 70,000 angels to pray and glorify Him, and the reward will be given to the reciter of this supplication.
- Whoever recites this supplication three times in the holy month (Ramadan), will be given the reward of paradise and protection from hellfire.
- Allah will send two angels to guard him from committing sins for his entire life.
- This supplication consists of 100 sections, each containing 10 names of Allah, except for section 55 which contains 11 names. After each section, one should say: Subhanaka ya la ilaha illa ant, al-ghouts al-ghouts, khollishna minan nari ya robb (Glory be to You, there is no god but You, help us help us, save us from the fire O Lord).
