Hello

Thank you so much for preparing tuxtrans. I have been using it for 3 years and it helped me a lot.

Two days ago, I started to download the new 14.04 release but after a few hours it stopped.

It writes "server error - 54", "server busy"... It is at 1.9 GB now but it can not continue anymore.

Do you know when can we continue to download?

There are many file sharing networks, websites and they are waiting for a high traffic.

Also, dividing it to parts could help.

Thank you

Hi,

yes, downloading such a big file could be a problem. The server and the
iso file are ok, though, I just downloaded both iso files (64bit and
32bit) in a few minutes although within the university's network.

What can I do? Finding other servers would cost money, and I have no
experience with file sharing networks, could you propose one without costs?
Dividing the iso file into parts might help though it would double the
necessary server space which I do not have at the time.
I already thought about using the bit torrent network, but it only makes
sense if many are downloading at the same time so that small data
packages could be shared. And given the small amount of feedback and
users of tuxtrans, this doesn't make sense.
So, I am open for advice and proposals for hosting the tuxtrans iso files.

best

Hi Peter

I am sure many translators are using tuxtrans but unfortunately they are not talking about it, they are not giving feedback.

In the group, I see only some bad comments about tuxtrans. But they are groundless. I think they could not understand how important tuxtrans is, or it is just that they don't have enough knowledge about computers.

What you are doing is really great. Your students are very lucky to have a teacher like you. They are learning about linux and FOSS during their education.

Regarding the file sharing websites, it looks like mediafire.com is best of them. It gives 50 GB storage free. After uploading the file, you can share its link immediately. There is another wonderful thing about mediafire. You don't have to upload files from your computer only. You can upload them directly from web also. You can just need to copy and paste the download link.

For example now, I am uploading tuxtrans 64 bit iso from your link directly to my mediafire account. The upload will take 1 hour. After that, I will download it from mediafire to my computer.

Regards

The files on mediafire are no longer reachable, maybe try a dropbox link?
