Hello,
I have downloded the bootable DVD for testing Tuxtrans abd followed
all
the instructions. The computers boots ok but it asks for a
user/password. I have tried the username: user, password: user01
indicated in the download web page, but it responds authentication
failure. I have tried all sorts of different possibilities like usin
the
numeric keyboard etc. but the result is always the same.
Anyone knows how I can get around this to be able to use Tuxtrans?
Thanks

Hi,

I have started the iso from within virtualbox, it starts with a few
error messages, but boots into the desktop (user).
When did you download the iso-file, we did an upgrade in may now, so
if you got the iso in April or in the first days of May it could be
the older iso file.
The password for the older 2011 release was simply user, the new
release has user01.
Hope this helps.
Please report your experiences with tuxtrans.

regards
Peter

Hi, thanks for your response.
I downloaded version 2011_05 and tried it in my office computer and there it boots OK but asks for user/password. Any of the combinations suggested fails.
Then today I have tried the same DVD in my computer at home and it works OK, Here it loads Ubuntu and Tuxtrans with no errors and it does not asks for user/password.
I suppose it has to do with the system configuration but I can´t think of what it might be, since they are both Pentium 4 machines with very similar configurations.
Quite misterious, don´t you think?
Thanks for your help

yes, I also observed a few irregularities with Ubuntu in the last
versions I did.
Errors pop up during boot-up and also during installation depending on
the hardware I use.
I don't know, maybe somebody else knows?
