I successfully Downloaded and installed the Tuxtrans ISO onto a USB Thumbdrive after 2 failed attempts at burning a DVD on my Toshiba Laptop w/Windows 7 Home Premium x64. Unfortunately, when I boot to the USB Drive whereas it requires the login, I can not get it past that point. The Tuxtrans.org website where I downloaded the ISO from said it would login automatically as user, but it is not doing that. It is requiring manual input at that point. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi,

sorry for my late answer, I was away for a two-weeks journey to Italy.
the tuxtrans ISO should work, I just downloaded it, burned it to a USB drive and booted my pc with it: no login screen and no password needed, it logs in automatically as "live user session"
Did you check the downloaded ISO file with the md5 checksum? How did you burn the iso file to the usb drive? unetbootin usually works ok.
it is hard to tell where something went wrong without more details.

best
Peter

Peter,
Thanks for the reply. I trust your trip to Italy was enjoyable.
As to my issue,I did use unetbootin to set up the USB thumbdrive. Never did figure out what was going on, but a friend burned an ISO on DVD for me and I picked up a used desktop cheap and installed it successfully on that so I am up and running. I am of the opinion it was an issue with corrupt drivers on my Windows 7 running laptop. Beyond that the only real explanation would be that I did something wrong in the process that I can't recall.
Nevertheless, I am good to go now. thanks.

Regards,

Alan
