Have you walked into a library and wished you could check out more books than you could possibly carry? Check out a Kindle Paperwhite at participating libraries with a collection of titles that you are sure to enjoy. Each Kindle has been loaded with expert-selected books.

When you check out a laptop from this kiosk, you agree to use it within the library only. If you remove the laptop from the library, you may held criminally responsible for theft of the laptop and/or be charged the full replacement cost of the laptop.

With your LA County Library card, you can download or stream eBooks, eAudiobooks, magazines, music, and movies on your computer, tablet, or phone. It's free and you'll never have to worry about overdue fines!

The Consumer Health Information Program assists the public with medical research by providing information from reliable sources. Customers are invited to use the Norwalk Library collection which consists of books, magazines, videos, and online databases related to health topics. We also provide individualized research services.

With the support of grants and corporate/community funding, the Library has established 48 Homework Centers. These Centers provide enhanced resources, computer technology, and homework helpers to support the educational needs of students in these communities.

A Family Place Library is a center for early childhood information, parent education, emergent literacy, socialization, and family support. Family Place builds on the knowledge that good health, early learning, parent involvement, and supportive communities play a critical role in young children's growth and development. The Californiana Collection consists of over 24,000 books and over 200 magazine and newspaper titles in paper and on microfilm as well as a collection of state documents including state and county budgets. The goal of this collection is to present a complete picture of the history, culture, environment and artistic expression of the people of California and to some extent, the western United States.

Libby is an eMedia resource, available with a permanent or Guest library card only. EMedia are not available with a Temp Card. Current checkout limits in Libby are 10 items (eBook and or audiobook) at any one time per Library account, and checkout period is 21 days. Checkouts in Libby are not renewable. Magazines (many of the most popular titles) are also available in digital form in Libby-and Libby magazines are available with no waitlists or holds, and do not count against your checkout limits.

The Cloud Library allows you to borrow and read eBooks and eAudiobooks. The newly redesigned app includes all new navigation and personalization, making it easier than ever to find eBooks or Audiobooks from your local public library. This app includes a fully functional reader allowing the user to read their ebook directly in the app, as well as bookmark and save the position of their book across devices. It also includes an Audiobook player, allowing the user to download, play and listen to their books offline.

CloudLibrary is an eMedia resource, available with a permanent or Guest library card only. EMedia are not available with a Temp Card. Current checkout limits in CloudLibrary are 10 items (eBook and or audiobook) at any one time per Library account, and checkout period is 21 days. Checkouts in CloudLibrary are not renewable. The collection in CloudLibrary includes items belonging to other libraries available to check out with your Pasadena Public Library card. These items will display if they are available, and will not display if they are checked out. Holds cannot be placed on items available through the consortium, but can be placed on items belonging to the Pasadena Public Library.

hooplaBorrow and enjoy audiobooks, eBooks, and digital comics (as well as movies, TV, magazines, or music) everywhere you have a screen-your computer, your phone, your car, even your TV. All you need is a library card. hoopla syncs across all your devices, so you can stream titles immediately or whenever you're in the mood. Most titles can also be downloaded to your phone or tablet. Titles may vary based on library catalog.

Current checkout limits for hoopla are 4 items total (of any format) in a calendar month. All hoopla items are available instantly without holds. Checkout periods are 21 days for eBooks, audiobooks and digital comics; 7 days for music; and 3 days for video (film or TV).

The Palace Project provides access to eBooks and audiobooks in a shared, statewide collection built by libraries across California. Download the app for Apple iOS or Android to begin. Then, log in using your library card and choose from over 100,000 items, including many that are exclusive to the Palace Project.

Palace Project allows checkout of an unlimited number of items (eBook and or audiobook) at any one time per Library account, and checkout period is 21 days. Checkouts in Palace Project are not renewable.

Find eBooks, eAudiobooks, streaming video (movies and TV), music, and digital comics and graphic novels anytime, from anywhere. When you go to hoopladigital.com for the first time, you will be asked to create a login (email and password), then you will select "Pasadena Public Library" and enter your Pasadena Public Library barcode. That's it! with the hoopla app or in your web browser on a computer, you'll be able to browse and check out content to read, listen and view!

Magazines can be downloaded to your computer or an Android or iOS device via the Libby app. Many popular titles, including The New Yorker, Cook's Illustrated, and US Weekly are available. Magazines are immediately available (no waitlists or holds), and magazines you read in Libby are not counted against your checkout limits. The Libby app is available in the Apple App Store, Google Play, and is available in a web browser at

To access your account, you will need your library card and password. When you get a library card, the password is set to the last four digits of your phone number. If you do not remember your password, contact Customer Service or call 616.988.5400 and ask to have your password reset.

Once you have logged in, you can change your password, view your record, place a hold, renew an item, give yourself a username or pay fines. You can also sign up to be notified by email and text message when your holds are ready or you have an item overdue.

Parking is free at all eight GRPL branches and for all library events. At the Main Library, two hours of free parking is available during the week in the lot next to the library. Parking rates during the week cost $1.10 per half hour after the first two hours.

You can also use your Grand Rapids Public Library card to check out material from the Kent District Library. If the item you are looking for is available, you may go to the owning library to pick up the item. You may place a hold on some Kent District Library materials. You will need to pick up and return the item at a KDL location. To choose a KDL pick up location, contact their Service Center at 616.784.2007.

Lakeland Library Cooperative (LakeNet)
If the item you are looking for is available at a participating library, you may visit the location and check out materials with your GRPL card. You cannot place holds on items owned by other Lakeland libraries. Return your Lakeland material to the same location where you checked it out.

MeLCat provides access to libraries across the state, including university libraries. If you find the book you need in MeLCat, it will be delivered to the GRPL location of your choice. MeLCat will notify you by email when your requested item is in. MeLCat services are only for books. Children 12 and under cannot use MeLCat to borrow materials.

Visit the Overdrive website or our online catalog for Overdrive ebooks available for Kindle devices. Libby will offer you an option to read in the Libby app or if you would like the book downloaded to your Kindle device.

Contact Support or Maryland Digital eLibrary/OverDrive Help. If you get a new library card number and have holds on the old number, fill out the form for Overdrive Frontline Tech Support with your old and new card numbers.
