Okay, yes, Tux2live don't support ROSA Linux in latest release.
As I know, ROSA is based on Mandriva Linux , so it should be modify for it. The follow as the reference:
tux2live-mkinitrd : generate initrd (or initramfs ) for live system. You mention about overlayfs and I think that's the core part to support ROSA.
tux2live-mkrootfs : generate root filesystem to .squashfs for live system
tux2live-mkiso : generate the above two parts and isolinux to iso file

I hope these can help you to do it.

Ha, we don't have a specified release date. As the saying : It will be released when it's released
